This hands-on role involves learning all aspects of running an existing 5-star operation as well as supporting a new food and wellness related venture.

Full training will be provided so although this role might suit someone with experience in the hospitality industry, it may also fit someone with no experience in this field. The emphasis for this role is on the qualities and characteristics of the successful candidate, prioritising these attributes over specific experience.

Location: On site - Balkello Farm, Auchterhouse, By Dundee, DD3 0RA.

Length of Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time position (40 hours per week). 9am-5pm with some weekend and evening work ( one and a half weekends in a 4 week period). Will consider flexible working pattern.

Responsible to: The Business Development & Operations Manager

Salary: £26,000-28,000 per annum.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The post holder must enjoy working outdoors. This role will involve overseeing the daily operations at the Hideaway properties (located throughout the farm) in all weathers. Taking a hands-on approach to supporting housekeeping and maintenance staff in order to deliver an exceptional experience to guests.

Reliability

You turn up 10 minutes early. Pro-actively plan your day/week ahead. You will be keen to support the team and won’t let others down.

 

Desirable Skills & Knowledge:

Qualifications

  • Two years’ experience in tourism and hospitality
  • Business or Tourism at HND or above.

Marketing

  • Experience in digital marketing, managing websites.
  • SEO and social media skills.
  • Reporting on marketing performance.

I.T. Systems

  • Proficiency using Microsoft 365 software and Xero accounting package.

Management

  • Track record of managing staff (even if it is only one or two people).

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle as the office and premises are in the countryside which is 5 miles north of Dundee.
  • There will be an element of PA duties to Caroline, including walking the family dogs and running the odd errand.
