Guided Farm Tours Highlight Scenic Sidlaw Hills and Local Heritage

International visitors, including leading farmers and agritourism industry experts, enjoyed a guided tour from The Hideaway Experience owners, Caroline and Ross Millar. The session highlighted Balkello Farm’s regenerative agricultural practices, Scotch Beef and Scotch Lamb production, alongside the cultivation of wheat, premium malting barley, oats, fresh peas, and seed potatoes.
Discovering Scotland’s Historic Landmarks at The Hideaway Experience

The Millars farm spans 1,000 acres across three farms, giving international guests the chance to experience the stunning scenery of the Sidlaw Hills and discover historic Scottish landmarks, such as the renowned St Martins Pictish stone, uniquely situated within the farm’s fields.

The global visitors were joined at The Hideaway Experience by the Provost of Angus, Craig Fotheringham, who welcomed them to Angus and to Scotland, saying: “Tonight is really about hospitality, friendship and making connections before the conference begins in earnest. Highlights included premium selections from Balgove Larder in St Andrews, Fife; Nicoll's Rosebank Bakery in Dundee; and Marshalls Farm in Aberdeenshire, demonstrating Scotland’s rich farm-to-table tradition and exceptional regional flavours.
