We were delighted to welcome travel writer, journalist and author Lottie Gross to stay in July for an overnight in our Stargazers Hideaway.

Return to blog

She came with her Manchester Terrier, Arty and her good friend Jess.

With three out of our five Hideaways being pet-friendly we are over the moon to be featured in her "Dog Friendly Weekends: Scotland" which will be released in summer 2026 with Bradt Guides.

Here's what Lottie had to say about her night in The Stargazers:

"The Hideaway Experience is completely divine. The sort of place that encourages hedonism and total relaxation from the very moment you arrive. The views from Stargazers were utterly spectacular, we watched the sun go down over the rolling fields from the loungers and spent a dusky evening in the hot tub until the stars came out.

The speakers for music in different areas of the house were so welcome for creating vibes and having so many different places to lie down - the hammock, the sunbeds, the shady egg, the bed, the chaise lounge! - was a total dream. The sauna, of course, was supremely lovely, especially after dark.

The worst part of it all was checking out. I was bereft to be leaving!"
